The WTKO North American Championships were held at Staten Island University . Illinos WTKO was represented by sensei’s Brian Evans, Joe Denney and Greg Scott who made the long journey from Mackinaw, IL. Jim Hartman, Mike McCabe and Dave Erbe from CISKA also attended the event. Upon arrival all met up with Sensei Mullin and attended a pre tournament gathering with sensei Charles Gidley and his group from Great Brittan. Sensei Quinn had also called from Japan and left a message on my phone for good luck, which was inspiring to all of us to hear from him. Then back to the hotel to rest for the next day.
The tournament was run by Sensei Richard Amos and was of the expected professional standard. The competition was excellent and all attending took something from the event.
