Once again we were treated to a couple of very productive seminars conducted by sensei Ted Quinn from the JKA/Japan. Ted called me after his arrival to the US and we were training in my dojo the very same day. After a couple of hours of catching up since his last visit, we were deep into the kata Unsu. Not only did I gain from this training, Ted took the time to work with my son Brandon as well privately. This is a particular favorite kata for Brandon and he worked hard to learn and improve. Afterward it was back to my house for dinner and more training on our back deck into the evening hours.
The next seminar would be for all ranks at our Mackinaw dojo and everyone was able to benefit from the training. Basics, kata and shobu ippon kumite were covered. It was a pleasure to have Ted back with us again standing at the head of the class instructing and passing on his knowledge so freely to all who desired it. He even held some shobu ippon matches at the end of the seminar, which turned out to be a huge success. The timing of this visit was perfect, since sensei Mullin would be coming to our dojos from New York as well, in just three more weeks to conduct various seminars
