Brian Evans is the Chief Instructor and Executive Director of the Illinois Traditional Karate Organization of Illinois. He is a 6th degree black belt and has been training in the art of JKA style Shotokan karate since 1978. Mr. Evans has competed on both national and international levels of competition in kata and kumite, winning titles in both. He is a nationally certified physical fitness coordinator and lead defensive tactics instructor as well.
He teaches self-defense clinics and defensive tactics courses to many different police departments and other organizations. Sensei Evans spends most of his time teaching and training at his dojo's in Central Illinois. Mr. Evans is the Illinois state contact for the WTKO/USA and a member of the International Shotokan-ryu Karate-do Shihankai (ISKS).
Over the years Mr. Evans has trained under or attended clinics and/or tournaments held by, some of the top Shotokan karate instructors such as; Ozawa Sensei, Nishiyama Sensei, Kanazawa Sensei, Mikami Sensei,Stan Schmidt Sensei, Sugiyama Sensei, John Mullin Sensei, Richard Amos Sensei, Yamazaki Sensei, Ray Dalke Sensei, Randall Hassell Sensei, Fred Serrichio sensei, Edmond Otis Sensei, and Murakami Sensei.
